James C. Gardner, MD

I am James C. Gardner, MD, a physician based in Novato, California, specializing in aesthetic and regenerative medicine. My medical career began in family medicine, general practice, and primary care, where I built a large practice and developed relationships with patients that, in many cases, have continued for more than three decades. Over time, my practice evolved as I became increasingly interested in treatments that could help patients maintain mobility, function, confidence, vitality, and quality of life.

Today, my Novato practice serves patients throughout Marin County and the greater San Francisco Bay Area with a personalized, independent approach to medicine. My areas of focus include regenerative medicine, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, regenerative orthopedic treatments for joints, ligaments, tendons, and sports injuries, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, hormone pellet implantation, sexual wellness procedures, dermatologic treatments, and minimally invasive aesthetic medicine. My cosmetic services have included Botox, dermal fillers, lasers, PRP facials, thread lifts, and other procedures designed to support natural-looking aesthetic results.

I also continue to provide comprehensive medical consultations for patients who need help understanding complicated health concerns, reviewing laboratory and diagnostic results, coordinating care, or determining appropriate next steps. I value taking the time to look at the complete picture rather than treating medicine as a series of isolated problems. That independent approach has allowed me throughout my career to pursue areas of medicine where I believe patients can receive meaningful and personalized benefits.

My education includes undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences and German Studies/Translation at Stanford University, followed by my medical degree from UCLA. My professional interests have also extended into mental health, particularly the treatment of anxiety, panic disorders, and depression. I have authored three books addressing these subjects, reflecting a longstanding interest in helping patients overcome conditions that can significantly affect their ability to work, function, and enjoy their lives.

What has mattered most to me throughout my career is having the freedom to follow areas of medicine that genuinely interest me and to focus on treatments that I believe provide value to my patients. I remain committed to practicing medicine in Novato and continuing to provide individualized aesthetic, regenerative, hormonal, and general medical care to the patients and communities I have served for many years.
