TUTU D (Thotho Ditshwane) 

 (Toh-toh Dit-shwah-nay) 

is a Singer/Songwriter, Composer, Playwright and musician, TUTU D a founder of Sechaba (sycharbar) Song, Dance and Drum company. TUTU D founded Sechaba to promote the belief that universal peace is obtainable and is strengthened through a better understanding of each other. TUTU D has toured internationally to countries like France and New Zealand, also performed in Las Vegas, Reno, San Diego and Houston, For more than eight years Texas Alliance for Education and the Arts and TUTU D & Sechaba intertained audiences with its unique performance style, offering a variety of interactive formats of up to forty- five minutes each. Audience members are encouraged to join in the laughter, fun, and dance, including a mini language lesson. Even the shy members of your group will find themselves singing and dancing alongside these exciting performers! And when the performance comes to an end, participants gain not only a greater understanding of South African culture, but a greater appreciation for diversity in their own homeland as well. Sechaba performs for thousands of children and adults annually, in up to three (45) forty five-minute performances a day. This international touring group has appeared in Midwest cities thorough the auspices of the Heartland Arts Fund and has been partially supported in many Texas cities through the Texas Commission on the arts. They were showcased at the Grand Foyer Performance Series at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC They were featured in Little Rock, Arkansas at its international festival, Texas Renaissance Festival, Beaumont, Dallas, Fort Worth and in Houston at the Houston International Festival
